Features that are a must are wireless networking, CD-Burner, minimum of 512MB of ram, and a 40+GB hard drive. Apples 14" iBook weighs in less than 6 lbs and its large screen makes taking notes or watching movies a breeze. The iBook comes with a large amount of bundled software, everything from a calendar to email. The new updated keyboards feel sturdy and keys are not cramped. The best part of this notebook is the price; at $1651 it's a great value. On the PC side a Dell Inspiron 600m with similar feature and warranty will cost you about $1828.00. The Dell runs on Intel's Centrino technology which is known for its integrated wireless technology and more importantly its improved battery life.
So, how do you choose? Well, Apple's OS (Operating System) has come a long way from 5 years ago. Windows XP is more stable than ever before. With the recent myriad of attacks on Windows based machines the isolated and protected island that is UNIX, Linux and Mac, Apple is a serious consideration for the consumer.
