We start with the horrible loud obnoxious alarm clock you use. Wouldn't you rather wake up to the soothing sounds of your favorite song rather than the Def Con 3 siren? There are a couple options in this area. Let's start out with a little program called a MP3 alarm clock. There are almost an infinite amount of programs available. With no cost they are very attractive to anyone's budget. For a CD/Alarm clock RCA makes an affordable and surprisingly solid sounding unit which retails for $69.99.

Let's face it; your Walkman from 7th grade isn't cutting it anymore. The new wave of on-the-go music is hard drive based music players. There have been several contenders for the top player. With companies such as Dell, Samsung, Rio, and Apple dishing out their best music players, consumers have several awesome choices. Yet despite the competition one player raises to the top, Apple's iPod. With capacity ranging from 10 gigs to 40 gigs, that's over a weeks worth of music, one of them will fit your music collection. You can even save some dough by taking advantage of Apple's education discount on iPods ($269 to $469). While other players are less expensive none come close to the iPod's ease of use, sound quality and available aftermarket accessories, this is one case where you get what you pay for. For the more budget minded music fans the iRiver iMP-550 is the slimmest and most stylish CD/MP3 player the Digital Guys have ever seen. Its external remote means you won't have to dig the unit out of your pocket to change songs. Although there are cheaper CD/MP3 players out there none match this one on style points and battery life. The careful shopper (aka the Digital Guys) can find the iMP-550 for below the retail price of $179.99. ($147.00 @ BuyDig.com).
